I proudly served in the military for 13 years and made the difficult decision to seek a civilian career in 2018.
During my time in the Arkansas Army National Guard, I had the honor of serving alongside Joe Buhajla. Upon deciding I was ready to leave my active-duty position, I reached out to him for help building a resume that would accurately reflect and articulate my military accomplishments.
With the help of him and his wife Stefani, we were able to convert my unique experiences into a more digestible language easily understood by others.
Joe and Stefani are remarkable people and have a heart to serve others. Their dedication to Soldiers transitioning from military service into the civilian sector is extraordinary.
As a result of their guidance and my intense determination, I was offered a role working for one of the top Fortune 500 companies in the world.
Joe, at Mission Point, changed my career and life with his skills used to improve my resume.
I’ve worked hard to learn the skills and knowledge one needs to be successful in my career field, and I have been in the manufacturing industry for 10 years. I have been in leadership roles for the past four years leading and training highly skilled teams of automation technicians. And even though I was more than for positions I was applying for, I was not receiving responses from companies I had applied to.
Mission StartPoint worked with me on my resume and helped me highlight the points of my career and education I was missing. They took my resume and completely revamped it, highlighting the information companies want to see. I was blown away by how good it was.Â
Shortly after this, I used my resume to apply for an internal promotion at my company that opened. At the same time, I applied for positions at a few other places. I received a response from all the applications I sent out. By the end of the interview process, I had offers from all the companies I had applied to. I ended up receiving the promotion from the company I was with, which resulted in a 20% raise for myself.
Joe’s knowledge, skills, and drive to help veterans is second to none. If you are looking to get your career started or make a change in it, this is, without a doubt, a step all veterans need to take.Â
I spent 27 years in the United States Army, and in that time, I attended more individual schools and training courses than I could count. As I approached my retirement date, I quickly realized the things I had done in the military did not directly translate to the civilian world. I spent over two decades as a logistician, but was unsure how to transfer that experience to a resume that civilian employers would take notice of.
I had the privilege to serve with Joe and worked on a small project for his wife, Stefani. Both are absolutely stand-up people, and I value their opinions. I reached out to Joe and, with his assistance, was able to develop a top-tier resume that is certain to get noticed. Without the help of Mission StartPoint, I would not be where I am today.Â
